On 19th December 2002 the French parliament passed a law with the objective of preventing people, especially children, from drowning in private swimming pools. Under this law pool owners are obliged to install a security system. Insurance companies now expect that pool security systems meet the AFNOR standards. The security fences/barriers supplied have been professionally installed and vigorously tested to comply with the AFNOR standards, taking into account all aspects of safety and also the aesthetics of your poolside. AFNOR Standards The enclosure must be1.22m high from the poolside flooring; The enclosure must be fixed to the floor; The enclosure must be at least 1m from the side of the water to a maximum of 3m in distance; The opening of the security gate must be made by a simultaneous double-opening action: one hand on the handle and one hand on the locking device or pin.
